Lucas gave me one of these. I suppose he thinks it’ll make me socialise more, considering how talkative I usually am. I don’t know why he’d think that though, seeing as I am not actually required to use this.

However, perhaps he has succeeded for the time being. I confess that I do find my fingers reaching for the quill and ink necessary to pen this entry. There is something more attractive about seeing your words, put down straight from the mind without the frivolity of your actual person to get in the way. This could turn out very illuminating.

You may know me as a bit of an astronomy buff. This is true. I do not need a study partner. There is also nothing romantic about stars. They are big balls of gas burning billions of miles away. That’s it. If you are thinking of doing something amorous with another person, please do not choose the astronomy tower. There are plenty of other places.

I don’t understand why you would all despise Professor Umbridge. Perhaps if you kept your heads down and concentrated on your studies instead of concocting ways to get on her bad side you would find life a lot less difficult.
